Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a behaviour developmental disorder affecting one in 10 children before the age of 7 years. The child affected by this disorder has signs and symptoms of nervous hyperactivity such as Inattention, day dreaming, failure to concentrate, trouble in organising little activities, restlessness, talk uninterruptedly and inability to stay still.
Cause of ADHD in Ayurveda:
According to ayurveda, ADHD is labelled as a vata dosha imbalance. Vata is “wind energy”: that has properties of lightness, changeability , coolness and mobility. Vata governs the movement of our body and mind. Everyone has some vata in their prakriti (constitution), but children with ADHD has vata predominance or aggravation due to that these children tend to have sensitive nervous systems, so they’re more prone to anxiety, inattention, restlessness, and sleep problems.

Some of the lifestyle changes to control aggravated vata having routine massage with vata pacifying oils, warm timely food intake, practicing pranayama and relaxation yoga postures on daily basis.
