Angela began her journey in healthcare as an optometrist. After completing a Bachelor
of optometry at the University of Melbourne, she has been practising at an inner
Melbourne clinic for the past 17 years. She finds great satisfaction from attending to
her patients’ needs and has very much enjoyed getting to know the many locals that
return to see her for their ocular health.
While she appreciates the importance for specialised healthcare, Angela has always
been drawn to explore natural and wholistic healing systems to manage health and
well-being in a supportive manner for sustainable outcomes. As far as she can
remember, she has always been curious about how food can be utilised to heal
alongside methods in which to transcend internal conflict and cultivate an even mind.
Growing up in a second-generation Chinese family, TCM (traditional Chinese
medicine) philosophy was subtlety infused in her everyday life. Perhaps this inherently
drew her to eastern medical systems.
In 2017, with the aim of increasing her physical and mental strength, she began a
dedicated Mysore Ashtanga yoga practice with a teacher in Melbourne. These 5 years
were a time of significant self-inquiry and personal growth, and a period in which she
discovered Ayurveda and Advaita Vedanta. The revelation of this truly all-
encompassing healing system resonated so deeply with her, so much so that she
decided to study the Diploma of Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle consultation which she
recently completed.
Her understanding of connectedness between the body, mind, and soul through the
lens of Ayurveda has encouraged her to follow her heart towards helping other beings
in the direction to a more balanced physical, mental, and spiritual state of well-being.
By incorporating Ayurveda into her daily living, Angela continues to expand and
deepen her understanding of the profound benefits of this powerful healing modality.
She strives to live the best version of herself and hopes to share this knowledge and
wisdom through providing diet and lifestyle advice along with supportive therapies.
Under the guidance of Dr Naveen, Angela is excited to be working at Ojus health and
looks forward to being granted the opportunity to improve the wellbeing of those that
come into her care.
As well as work and studies, Angela loves rejuvenating in nature, listening, and playing
music, cooking for her loved ones, practising yoga and meditation, and time with her
partner and fur baby.
